About the position
We are looking for a Junior Software Developer for our client, a major player in the automotive industry. This is a full-time position on-site at their office in Gothenburg. Some travel might be required to other locations inside and outside Sweden.

Your daily tasks
In the role of Junior Software Developer, you will be part of an agile team responsible for delivering the digital functions at the client company. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Close collaboration with hardware operators and stakeholders of other applications
• Install and configure services that are communication layer between hardware and upper systems
• Support testing manufacturing stations, configure device connection, verify integration between various applications
• Verify proper network configuration and fix minor network issues
• Develop minor code changes to adjust application behaviours based on output of test scenarios or fix minor bugs (in Java language)
• Use JavaScript to adjust simulation environment to test scenarios

Additional Responsibilities (depending on workload on main responsibilities):

• Configuring pipelines to deploy new versions of applications
• Preparing monitoring solutions according to business and technical requirements
• Developing new features with other colleagues from the team – mainly in Java
• Taking part in analyzing new requirements and adjustments to ones already existing

Your characteristics
You are a strong communicator with excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written English skills, allowing you to collaborate seamlessly with both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to adapt your communication style ensures clarity and understanding across diverse audiences. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with stakeholders, hardware operators, and team members to deliver reliable and effective solutions. Your ability to manage various technical tasks demonstrates your organizational skills and technical expertise.

Qualifications:

• Experience with software development in Java
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and Openshift
• Familiar with REST APIs, databases, cloud services, and messaging systems such as IBM MQ and Kafka
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills in English
• Fluent in Swedish

Meritorious:

• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry
• Experience with Windows Service Applications
• Experience as IT Support, Service Technician or Software Engineer
• Knowledge of IBM MQ and Kafka

Contract type and hours
Full-time consulting assignment for 12 months, then possible permanent recruitment with the client company. Start 2025-03-01.
