About the position
Perido is looking for a Senior Commodity Buyer on behalf of our client – a well-known international company in the automotive industry. You will be based in Gothenburg, and work with European plants in Sweden, France and Belgium, as well as their European Distribution Centers. Therefore, this role requires regular travel to mentioned locations.

Key Responsibilities
As our Commodity Buyer for Personal Safety and Welding Equipment, you will work closely with local, regional, and global colleagues, as well as internal stakeholders, to achieve the best possible results in terms of quality, delivery, cost, features, and technology—while ensuring long-term sustainability and managing risk.

You will be responsible for developing and managing the supplier base through structured categorisation, segmentation, and continuous performance evaluation. In addition, you will identify and onboard new suppliers, contributing to the development of new business models and more efficient ways of sourcing.

You will also:

• Drive all sourcing activities
• Issue RFPs, negotiate an optimal cost level for your portfolio and carry out contract negotiations and management
• Contribute to the INV & PIC department KPI target fulfillment
• Interact as key contact with the stakeholders, mainly in the plants
• Identify, drive synergies and share best practices within the company including but not limited to participation in internal network meetings and external benchmarking
• Contribute to the development of the segment business plan (strategy) to support the company’s strategic objectives
• Drive sustainability actions with the supply partners to reduce CO2 emissions and circularity (recyclability, reuse…)
• Secure innovations for your segments

Your characteristics
To succeed in this role, you are a collaborative and proactive professional with strong communication skills and a natural ability to build trust across teams, stakeholders, and suppliers. You combine solid business acumen with confident negotiation skills, and you are comfortable working cross-functionally in an international environment. You are well-structured, able to manage priorities effectively, and have a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving value and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or business administration
• Minimum 5 years purchasing experience
• Fluent in Swedish and English is a must (in speech and writing); Fluent in French is an asset
• Strong Negotiation skills & business acumen
• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Priority management skills
• Experience of working with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), driving cost improvement opportunities
• Communication skills and strong interest to develop good collaboration with stakeholders, supply partners and team

Contract type and hours
Full-time consulting assignment until 2027-06-07. Start 2026-05-04.
